About
Research Funding and Pre-Award Services at Texas Southern University is dedicated to empowering faculty and staff in the pursuit of research, scholarship, and innovation. We provide comprehensive support throughout the proposal development process with support ranging from identifying funding opportunities and interpreting sponsor guidelines to preparing competitive applications. We also assist in ensuring compliance with institutional and federal requirements. Our goal is to minimize institutional barriers, strenghten the quality of proposals, and increase institutional success in securing ecternal funding.
Services
- Identifying a potential source of external funding (Federal, State, Local, and Private) for extramural research and scholarly activities.
- Assisting in obtaining appropriate program guidelines and forms.
- Reviewing proposals for compliance with University policies and agency terms.
- Overseeing the transmittal of proposals to funding agencies in a timely manner via CAYUSE.
- Assisting with obtaining institutional approvals.
- Preparing and negotiating subcontracts for those projects containing these requirements.
- Maintaining databases of proposal submissions and awards.
- Presenting proposal/grant-related workshops for faculty and staff.
- Serving as a resource for questions regarding all aspects non-financial research administration
